  1. THERE ARE SO MANY ARTISTS NOW….THAT DJs HAVE VERY LITTLE RESPECT FOR ARTISTS. PAYOLA IS ILLEGAL, YET THEY DISGUISE IT BY HAVING RECORD POOLS DOUBLE AS “PROMOTION COMPANIES” AND “CONFERENCE CALLS” ABOUT YOUR NEW SONG ARE ACTUALLY A SCREENING PROCESS TO SEE IF YOU ARE BRINGING ANY MONEY TO THE TABLE FOR GETTING YOUR SONG PLAYED.

    • Its no secret that money talks in this industry Track Lacer. Everyone wants to be a rapper but not many rappers respect the business side of the industry. I think most of the time DJ’s don’t respect artists because they come at them unprofessional. Unmixed/Unmastered music, no BDS info, etc.. Thats why most professional DJ’s don’t respect artists.

  2. Well I make beats and the biggest problems for me are. Getting an artist to use my beats. They will listen ask for them tell me they like them. Then they don’t use any of them. Second is feedback. I get some most good some critical which I actually like. Most people are to afraid to be real with you tho so. These are the biggest problems I face

    • Thats common in this industry Andy. Everyone talks a good game but very few have the discipline to follow through on an opportunity. Furthermore, artists tend to be very sensitive and don’t like receiving constructive criticism so it may explain why they don’t provide any to you. If you have a music site network with the artists that hit like or share your material. Create a list of 10 artists you would like to work with and send them snippets and follow up with them to see what they think. If you have access to a studio offer a free session to show them what you bring to the table as a producer.
